Family member, Katie Rowe reminds me that the first 12 days of July are busy ones for the family. July 4 is a favorite holiday for Soapy as it is also his daughters (Mary Eva Moriarty) birthday. July 8 is the anniversary of Soapy's death. July 12 is Katie's birthday as well as the day of passing for Michael Moriarty, a grandson of Soapy's who left us in 2004.
Now that the 4th of July has passed we can concentrate on the upcoming Soapy Smith Wakes. The anniversary of Soapy's death is a time for family, friends and fans to come together and remember the adventurous life and tragic death of a great old west character. Keep watch her for more news.
