Another early photograph of Jefferson Randolph Smith III (Soapy’s son) and his first wife, Ethel Catherine Reitz with two of their children. They were married April 20, 1908 in St. Louis, Missouri. Jeff was 21 in 1908 and he looks pretty young in the photograph, so I will only guess that it was taken sometime after 1910.
If the photo dates sometime after 1911 the children could be Joseph Jefferson Smith (left), born November 16, 1909 and Joan Wanda Smith (right), born May 21, 1911. One of the problems with these old photos is that boys were often put in boys dresses. It was the norm of the period. So, although the child on the left appears to be a girl, it could be a boy. I am just guessing and could sure use some help from the family on this.

- Who are the children?
- Who is the unidentified woman on the left?
