My publisher has received the proof for the hardbound of my book, Alias Soapy Smith. In his email to the printer he writes,
I’ll begin by saying that as a whole, to look at and to hold, I find this bound book highly pleasing. The binding appears to be particularly strong and neat. Stitching is hardly noticeable within the gutter, and on top and bottom, not noticeable at all. An attractive book that is also durable and friendly to the hand is, to me, an “object d’art,” a made thing of aesthetic merit. I’m very pleased with this proof.
In an email to me he writes:
Hi, Jeff.
It really is a nice book! ...
Late as it is in coming, I'm glad to have this proof, proof that production of a very attractive book is about to commence. Makes my Labor Day weekend. Hope it helps yours. A couple of quick pics are attached for your reference.
Yes this does make my Labor Day weekend.
Congratulations! This is all very exciting!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Averyl.

ReplyDeleteHi, Dave.
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting on pins and needles to recieve MY first copy.
Jeff,
ReplyDeleteWow, your book looks very substantial and on par in size and appearance with Lea Silva's book on Wyatt Earp. Can't wait to add it to my library.
